The Assam State Warehousing Corporation ( ASWC) was established in 1958 under the Agricultural Produce (Development of Warehousing) 1956 which was later replaced by the Warehousing Corporation Act, 1962 with the objectives of providing warehousing facilities of agricultural produce and certain other commodities and for activities connected there with.

The Corporation has very successfully passed through the period since its establishment to the objectives in the Govt of India’s Act and rendering valuable contribution to the process of nation building in the economic spare.

The State of Assam being primarily agrarian economy supported by the gigantic industries has been immensely benefited from the service of the Assam State Warehousing Corporation rendered to different sections of population such as small farmers, traders and jute producers, fertilizer dealers, tea produces and industrialists etc.

This Corporation started its venture during 1958 with only 8000 MT warehousing capacity that has now grown to an organization with capacity of 2.43 lakh MT (own constructed godown + Temporary shed) of warehousing places scattered through out the length and breadth of the State with 41 nos. of warehousing centres and supported by a man power of 299 employees in different cadres.
